now my question is what if you leave one set of butterflies and just add a spacer underneath for a h22? just like the one on the first page

Did you put your butterfly plate on the top IAB? Wouldn't it be more of a full time benefit to have the butterflys on the lower plate?

Is it possible to stack those spacers 7 high? Then run a ram air scoop out of the hood? hahaha.. Please someone with the time and resources should try this.

                  hey guys.....

if you get a 3rd spacer

put the butterfly spacer in between both hollow ones and you'll get mad torque

                  plenum+spacer+IAB spacer+spacer+runner=tower of terror

So I read all 10 pages of this thread and I have a couple of qusetions I just want some clarification. I have 91 SE with A6 so if I do the H23 Plenum and do the spacers do the butter flies stay at the bottom and them the two gutted spacers on top or do you gut the bottom one then the butterflies and then gutted or what im confused here can somebody tell me step by step . Somebody please help and I have an AT so does the plenum have to be from an AT or does it mater. Thanks

To start, it doesn't matter if it's an auto or manual intake. All you need to do is remember to swap over/connect the AT wire to the throttle body when you swap plenums.

And since you have an A6, you already have one spacer. So all you will want to get is a second one (for a total of two spacers).

As for the order of the spacers, that's up to you. If you want to keep the butterfly valves operational, I'd put the spacer with the butterflies on the bottom, then the gutted one on top of that, then the plenum.
Or you can gut both spacers.

                        So to recap...
Get one more spacer from either another A6 or an H23.
                        Get the H23 plenum.
                        Get a H23 or H22 throttle body.
Gut one or both of the plates.
Install the plates in whatever order you would like (personally I would go with the butterfly plate on the bottom).
Hook everything up (vac lines, coolant lines, etc.).
                        And enjoy!

Thanks for the help, now I understand now I have to find the plenum I went to the jy and not a single prelude there. There was like 15 cb but that's it I even checked eBay but nothing yet. What would happen if I double stacked my a6 plenum for now would that do anything or would it be a waste of time

will i notice any difference if i swap out my a6 runners for the h23 runners? or is it all the same thing?

                            Comment

from what i recall, h23 runners are shorter=more high end torque.

h23 runner isnt all that short than a a6, like a half inch or so shorter. not by much at all. now h22, diff story.
