Update: gear-speed coated synchros are going in, and im fixing the rest of the tranny by next week. After that, battery relocation, custom intake, and a CF hood. Hopefully tuned by the meet....but i doubt it

I just noticed the custom lip on the R33 bumper. What lip did you use on the bumper? Does it prevent scraping and cracking? It looks great! How is the ground clearance with the added lip? Thanks.

yea i threw a 5th gen lip....ground clearance hates me....if i stick my foot under the car it stops about half way to the tounge of the shoe. i scrape alot, but so far non of the previous cracks have gotten worse. The lip seems really flexible which i think helps with bottoming out. I have not taken on a huge bump yet though, im afraid that might just rip the screws off. I used about 7-9 screws underneath the bumper to secure the lip on. Give it a more OEM look if you ask me...

Thanks. I'll wait to see whayt my clearance looks like once my bumper is installed and make a decision then as to whether to pick up a lip. However, it will help with an automatic emissions waver for two years for being so low to the ground. whith all my engine work I seriouly don't expect to pass emissions. Therefore, I may get one to ensure the automatic emissions waver.

You havent got the tranny back? What were you doin to it?

the parts should be in mid week for the tranny...

i ordered the 5th gr hub, 5th gr sleeve, 5th gr synchro, and 5th gr shift fork (since the shift fork was common to bend, it throws the synchro off just enough to cause all these problems when you dont treat it!). Then I got a set of 1-5 gearspeed synchros, 3,4,5 are carbon coated i believe. I had no reverse at all, couldnt get it in threw the shifter or the tranny shift arms. So i pulled it and found out this out. But parts should be here mid week, hopefully it'll all be ready to drop back in Fri or Sat. If not, then next weekend it is!
