Hopefully I can get prep work done this week and next, so two weekends from now is my goal.My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

cap psi is most important, not inlet psi.
You can put a regulator on your air compressor to stay at a minimal level so that you never run out of air, but your paint gun should also have a regulator to run at a much lower pressure.
My supernova seems to work wounders for me with only 10 psi at the cap.
Satajet. ha thats another storry,
I can give you an idea on how to make a temporary air drier so moister doesn't build up in your lines and ruin your paint. Laugh if you choose, but without a expensive air drier this is your best choice.
Get a 3" threaed pipe, add a cap to both ends and tap them to recieve air fittings.fill the pipe with tampons and use a pipe wrench to tighten down the caps on the pipe.
This does work. Seen many good backyard guys around use this cheap method.
The thing you can put on your gun is a joke. A JOKE.
In the end whatever your air pressure ends up being, you can adjust your fan accordingly to make your gun work, as well as the time you spend with each pass and overlap.
Can't wait to see it.
You still going the bluish silver?"Self Renewed"

Edit: yeah I ran into an auto paint store, they wanted an arm, a leg, and my firstborn for their middle of the line paint. So probably getting a basic generic version online, won't be honda code exact but it will be Glacier blue metallic... Some of the other colors are so tempting though.. Nomatter what anything is better than what it looks like now. I'm just not settled on single stage or 2 stage with clear, esp with budget paint I think I would rather be able to buff it for a couple years than have to redo peeling clear.
Edit Edit: Hah... supernova... $700 paint gun.. Not for a two time use project gun for me dude XDLast edited by Smokinspeeds; 10-08-2012, 06:49 PM.

Glad to see you cared enough to research everything I posted. lol
you could add another regulator on the gun side of your air drier and not on the gun, so that it doesn't cost verry much.
cheapo, would work for your situation: http://www.wayfair.com/Campbell-Haus...FQbonAod7FMAMw
this is similar to whats on my guns: http://www.google.com/products/catal...=0CFkQ8wIwATgU
heres your best option and price for your paint.

Great company and fast shipping, I've baught lots of random iteams from them, but never paint. We have our own lines.
Aluminum foil is a good way to cover engine bay parts when painting. not my photo but a great example.
I'll post up some paint gun setup tips tonight, off to work."Self Renewed"

Hah, I didn't exactly google everything, just the gun, but I have been doing reading a few YouTube vids. Ofc there is good and bad there, but I found some great forum threads with people restoring cars and doing good work within a budget. Explain the difference/need for a regulator at the gun in addition to the one at the tank? Does the pressure change that noticeably in the hose? That paint has the same label as what I'm Looking at for a hair less withfilters as well as hardner.
I went and marked out the dings on the roof and doors from hail and whatnot, there isn't near as many dings from hail as my wife's car got from the same storm. Lots of sanding to do... I want to clean up the bay a bit as well, fill in a few holes etc. Think I will paint the VC to match while I'm at it.

Marked out dents yesterday. My roof is about half as bad as the wife's car.

Answer to a lot of problems...
$14.50 at home depot, so I grabbed it.
The gun I've had for a while but never used. I'm afraid to go with it, the nozzle I believe is 1.5mm and probably requires 9+cfm at 60 or more psi. If anyone can make sense of the numbers on the box that would help, I haven't found anything really helpful to calculate it over to CFM/PSI ratings.
New 3 core half radiator arrives tomorrow! Pics inc what that happens!
Edit:
Keele I just looked at the tab I have saved for the ebay company where I Was looking at for paint before you posted, its the same company, TCP. Heh I must be on the right track ^^...

So this will sum up the headache of the last 24 hrs... Part of it at least.
Axle popped out and wouldn't go back in after installing the bump stop on the driver side as well as a new outer tie rod. Deeza btw makes the beefiest controll arms I've seen, better than the moog on my passenger side. Anywho that was last night, just to late to get another axle, so I got it done this evening. Don't even get me started on ky wife's car being on the side of the road three times in the last week with clutch issues. I'm so tired of car problems right now....
Paint arrived, primer will be here soon as well. Not sure if I will get to paint this weekend or not. I decided I'm not going to do the engine bay till spring, so I can have time to clean it up properly first. I want to focus on doing good prep on the body, it need the TLC and my energy after work is limited.
