      I think maybe you should start using some wider apertures. It gets boring looking at the car ONLY. The back ground might have changed, but it's still boring since it's blurred out.

        I always feel the goal of car photography is to highlight the car... not to distract from it. If the background added then I'd leave it in focus. hmmm. I'll try it next time see how I feel about it.

        And yeah my car is getting boring and ugly but it's all of got.

          You need to put the car in an enviroment that agrees with the style of the car. A bright, flashy car looks great next to a wall of colorful graffiti. You car would look good in a dark, industrial area. The background is supposed to enhance the main subject, not just fill space in the frame.

            you're right... you win.

            I wonder how my car would look in front of graffiti?

            i've been thinking and I think I've got a couple locations in mind. Just gotta get some stuff done to my car first.

                  i think you meant narrower apertures to show more of the background. Wide aperture = smaller f-stop number (ex. f2.8) = blurred background. Narrow aperture = larger f-stop number (ex. f11) = background more in focus.

                  ilovemycb7 - those shots are nice and i think the wider apertures (blured background) works pretty well for night shots like you did. During the day I would go the opposite way and stop down a bit.

                      Summertime = Laketime

                      Lots of clouds led to some cool lighting. I wish I would have stayed down at the dock longer when the huge clouds rolled in, but I didn't want to get stuck down there in a downpour.
