                          Its still the stock lense, but I'll keep that in mind

                            I know my 350d has a little scrolly thingy to focus to YOUR eyes. The 40d should have it as well.

                              well focus really isnt that hard to see at all there is a thing that lights up inside the camera when it focuses on that point.... when u see it flash that means it focused right there.....
