so i was looking at all my datalogs and i think the trans is holding this thing back pretty bad. there is almost a .4sec pause for gear changes. it cant be shifted any faster than i shift it now due to the non dual-cone 2nd and 3rd synchros and the fact of them being all brass they dont have good braking capabilities. i'll be so glad when i get the t2w4, it'll be rebuilt with carbon fiber syncros and a 4.64FD. this combined with the dual-cone synchros on 1st and 2nd it will be able to shift much faster. just think, i shift at least twice in the 1/4 mile. if i could reduce that shift time from .4 to .3 that's .2 off my 1/4 mile easy. i cant wait.
here's the datalog. look at how much time is wasted shifting.

It is still a street car, hopefully the built T2W4 with the k-tuned shifter will be enough.

Slicks and an ESP traction bar would go a long way with your setup.

I have to tell you though, the 4.64 final drive and mfactory lsd in my M2S4 just completely changed the feel of the A1. On 15" street tires I can burn out 3rd for a while, but absolutely no wheel hop whatsoever!

Also, you should look into shayspec for some solid shifter mounts, and solid forward gate bushing.

^^^^That's my setup right there, it feels real nice, solid and crisp! It's a quick, and cheap alternative to try before committing to the k-tuned billet shifter (which I've considered as well)

i have solid bushings in the shifter plate and in the cables on the trans side just not on the shifter side. im excited about the 4.64 FD. my cb isnt super heavy but it does weigh in at almost 2900lbs with me and half a tank so the 4.64 will help it get moving.

Ever considerd carbon fiber components? I know realisticly it does not do much, but you are trying to get as much as possible and it still might make noticeable results.

i had a carbon fiber hood before, i liked it. on my color it wasnt even noticable until you were right on top of it. i have been considering a carbon hood and trunk, just paint match them. im looking into some oem seats that weigh less than the stock ones aswell while still appearing oem. like 2000 prelude seats, they weigh literally half what our seats do.

I agree! Accord seats are like a full size couch...lol ITR seats are really light as well. Takes a little bit of fabrication to get them to fit but they are comfy seats. Prelude seats are a much better fit though.

i figured i could either do that or bite the bullet and order some NRG carbon buckets. only downfall to those is i have kids and it would be a hassle to get in and out of the back. i'll probably just do 1997-2001 prelude seats in front and just have them reupholstered to match the interior. i may go a little nicer on material. do alcantara on the panel inserts and the seats. its light, soft, breathable and much more durable than regular suede.

Hey, how is that AEM intake that you have compared
to like a regular 3" SRI?

Is the V2 now called the double chambered intake?

                          Comment

It is a dual chamber intake, it is built using two tuning frequencies so as to provide a broader power band. I love it. Peak power is only marginally higher but the midrange is much better. On your setup can see it helping the midrange but up top I'd be only 1-2whp. Honestly a 3" intake is not needed, 2.75" is sufficient. The 3" won't lose power it just won't gain anything either over a 2.75" of the same length.

It would be nice if they had permission to steal pictures for their own self gain. Still it's cool knowing that you car was chosen to advertise a product.
