OPEC or OPAC can't remember which it is, is driving the price down in attempt to keep us dependent on their oil, making it less cost effective for us to frack, build an Alaskan pipeline or buy from the Canadians. But our president would rather make a deal with the middle easterners who hate us rather than do business with our Canadian friends who don't want to cut our heads off. Our president would like to take executive action and deem almost half of Alaska "wilderness" or "wildlife wilderness" in order to make it legally impossible to become dependent on our own oil. It's all politics. Oil is always pure politics.
