ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I don't like any rat rods, and many of those cars are very ricey, but because they have a flat paint scheme, they get some love.

Silly to me, but I am just one man, and I drive a camo car, so what do I know.

That's the only car I saw on the first few pages that really captures the oldschool rat-rod vibe, while still looking like an import. that car is sick.

i to like the flat black and green but i like it better when some of that old factory paint is on thier and it's rusting all around it.

then go back with some flat satin clear over it to keep it from rusting out to quickly. i can see it. and i wana see more modern rat rods.

the whole idea was to use what you had to make the fastest thing you could, while looking kewl doing it.. scrapping the ground.

zz motor? if u wanna go true old school. 283sbc w/ tri carb set up w/ a powerglide and a 9" ford rear end. nice side pipes. maybe some Ford F1 rims? w/ the chrome "beauty" trim w/ candy red over them and black rim.

id do flat black w/ red pin stripe flames. 6" chop top and 6" streach to the cab, some old bomber seats and keg fuel tank

i did some measurements and read that the model a body would fit a 83-91 s10 frame.

the thing is that they all try to hard when they do it.
and a rusted hood on a car with nice paint?
                i love rat rods though

here is the one we built.

all brand new tubular frame, brand new zz motor, eveerything it was all brand new shiney metal but we used acid and other methods to make it look 50 years old.

unfortunately i don't have pics with the bed on it, because it's a convertable truch, and yes thats a nascar quick change rear end with almost the shortest gears they make in it.

unfortunatley the owner was having us build a cab for it.

not this rear end. this sucker cost $8,000 and if your finding them in junkyard you better grab em up, they are worth more than gold.
