The interior of my cb9 is in really good shape. I've had people ask me who covered my seats....but they are factory. I had a few spots on the carpet and what looked like coffee from the p.o. Between the drivers seat and shifter. It always bugged me. So today I pulled the carpet out. I soaked it with oxy clean and hit it with the pressure washer. All kind of nasty junk came out. The more I scrubbed and washed, the more crap came out, and the carpet got softer. After about a hour the water finally ran clear. Well back to the seats, like I said they are in really good shape, and I wipe them with uplstrey cleaner about once a month. But to me they always looked dingy. Like I'd left the windows down at a dirt track. I had a buddy who always pressure washed seats he got out the junk yard....so I figured "what the hell" so to the seats I went. It was amazing seeing all the old ass juice come out of them. I used no cleaner, but Iam guessing what I cleaned the seats with was coming out. The covers dried pretty quickly, so I could see the difference. Once they dry really good, I'll put it back together. I also did all the plastics with simple green and the pressure washer. So they are squeaky clean too

I wasn't going to do the seat to start with, so no before pics, and I didn't think cleaning the carpet was a big deal.
If you even remotely think about needing to pull your carpet to clean it........do it. That was the easiest one I have ever pulled. It took maybe 30 mins and I had to unbolt my flip/fold back seats. It's like they designed it to come out and be cleaned. On most cars the sub dash is bolted on top of the carpet, so you either have to cut it, or unbolt the dash. The accord, it's split. There a plate with two 10mm bolts keeping it from falling under the gas peddle, 8 14mm bolts for the from seat, 17mm for the seat belts, 3 10mm on the dead peddle, 6 Phillips screws hold the console, in clip the kicks, sills, and the lower b-pillar, and fold it back and take it out the back door (or front if you have a coupe) the hardest part is getting the covers off the seat bolts, they have tabs you have to bend the plastic covers over.....self explaintory when you see them
Edit: they are dry to the touch, but still damp if I push on them. I can see places on them with just the straight water, and I didn't spend a ton of time on them. So I sprayed them down with some oxy clean laundry stain remover and hit them with a stif brush. I'll let that sit for a bit, and hit them again. Iam probally being anal, if I brushed the seats, you almost can't see the spots, they are like ring around the collar spots. On the back side bolsters and in the middle frontLast edited by Soufkackicustom; 08-03-2013, 06:11 PM.

So after scrubbing them down with oxy clean, I let them sit for about a hour, and hit them with the pressure washer again....what do you know..more nasty ass juice. This time I just kept spraying them till the water ran clear all the way down. I'll let the drip dry tonight, and hope the sun finishes them Tomm. The carpet is almost dry, so I dry brushed it, it looks great and is super soft.

Did you take the seat covers off? Or are you power washing the whole seat assembly? How the heck do you get it all to dry?Originally posted by Soufkackicustom View PostSo after scrubbing them down with oxy clean, I let them sit for about a hour, and hit them with the pressure washer again....what do you know..more nasty ass juice. Left them on...letting the sun dry them. We got a spot we hang out at where we build bonfires, and the chairs of choice are old car seats. They stay out there all the time, and if it dosent rain a day or two before, they are dry. But I'll vacuume them before I re install, and use the heat gun if I need to. If I still worked at the shop, if just left them in front of the blow heater over nightOriginally posted by fleetw00d View PostDid you take the seat covers off? I used a Stanley 1800psi electric pressure washer I picked up from Walmart. It didn't give me any thought that it was going to rip the fabric, I know some of the bigger gas ones will pull paint off a car with the right nozzle. Mine had a abjustable tip and I had about a inch wide stream comming out of itLast edited by Soufkackicustom; 08-04-2013, 09:36 AM.

Rewired the alarm and system while it was gutted. Got the carpet and wagon stuff back in it. Got to really scrub the seat belts, the gear shifter (I have a auto) and all the little plastic stuff. A quick swipe with some detail spray and they shine like new, Iam really happy with the carpet.......I'll post pics in a bit, the seats are almost dry

out

carpet

as you can see, i was rushed wiring my system...the 3 sets of rca's now run down the center, the speaker wires run down the middle of floor board, along with the 110 plug, and the power wire is still by the door. I ran it all through the holes in the raised up part the seat bolts to so there is no "bump" in the carpet

after just using the pressure washer

carpet back in

back with system

after the oxy clean/scrub, and 2nd pass of the pressure washer (dont know why some look darker, they are all the same color)

and all the plastics

I ran out of daylight, so ill finish it up in the morning. Clean all the door jambs and junk, then start on buffing what's left of the paintLast edited by Soufkackicustom; 08-04-2013, 09:37 PM.

I didn't vacuume the seat, just brushed the back ones by hand, and the nap layed the same direction....so the "lines" will come out, but I work third, and am beat....so that will have to wait for tonight or in the morningLast edited by Soufkackicustom; 08-05-2013, 11:17 AM.
