this is a cheaper method. you can get similar, if not the same, results as a blacktrax spacer, for like $20. hence a D-I-Y

        ok

1 i dont think it will increase MPG, cuz most of the times ur gonna be hittin it

2 the intake mani wont produce that much heat for JB to melt or fall in the chambers

3 single cam: iab plate W butterflies on top of the gutted one
h22: gutt the two of them (i found out at 7000 them butterflies restrict a lot)

4 make sure all the holes are smooth cuz if not ull have that damn whistle (IT GETS REALLY ANNNOYING)

5 jb and honda bond are use to block oil pasages i dont think i will fall of ur intake

6 to get rid of something u gotta start at the source, i this case hondata intake mani gasket helps more that the blacktrax plate, having both i thinks is a waste of money

okay I've got all the parts needed, IAB plate, 2 90' prelude compressor bolts and 3 CB7 compressor bolts, BUT, I think I might run into some clearance issues. I've got a 3" prelude CAI and a strut bar, do you think it'll clear all that? since the IAB plate does add like an inch to the height of everything right? i'm just worried that the intake would now be hitting the strut tower bar, therefore me having to sacrifice that for this IAB plate.

i have a megan strut bar

but do you also have a 3" intake?

and I'm also worried about my tranny kickdown cable currently resting on the side of the intake, if I add that plate, then it'll raise the intake right? making the kickdown cable kink?

I had that same whistle...thought it was those three holes. So I went to go take it all apart, but i noticed one of my throttle body nuts was loose. So I tightened it up, turned the car on, and no whistle. That was a couple weeks ago, and I still haven't filled in those holes and I have no more whistle.

I do have a nasty vaccuum leak

It does add a noticiable hight to your intake for obvious reasons. My best bet is to rather than measuring it and getting a rough idea, just put it all together without torqing it down and without adding all the coolant lines, so you get the height of the manifold, and see where that takes you.
Worst case scenario - too tall for your strut bar, so you can't use the spacer...but now you can replace your plenum gaskets with new ones.

Best case - it fits fine and now you have a couple more ponies.

with an ebay strut bar like that, i would get rid of it all together. i'd be willing to bet that you'd like the spacer upgrade more then what the bar does

i had an ebay bar on, and i didn't feel much of a difference, especially since i have a Progress rear sway bar. the sway bar made it night and day, the ebay strut bar just took up space in the engine compartment

yeah thats kinda what I was reasoning myself, I did get that bar for like 5 bucks from the JY and I REALLY didn't notice anything after I put it on. I've got a 21mm ST rear sway bar on and THAT makes a huge diff.

Do you think a Neuspeed one would clear the intake w/ this extra IAB plate?

neuspeed should clear as it's no where near the top of the plenum.

I'm going to try to do this next week, just worried my hoses will be too short as I'm a DX that never had a spacer to begin with and thse hoses will naturally be shorter I bet.

Got to hunt down those compressor bolts.

Hey ikayto, just remember, you can only do this with the A6/h23 manni. The pic above doesn't look like the a6.

well the plenum isn't the issue though, its the area underneath the strut bar and the intake, see mine is much bigger than your's 3" vs. 2.5" for your AEM. And i'm worried that that spacer will lift it so high that it'll not clear. I was planning on getting a Neuspeed when I have some extra cash lying around.

you don't happen to have another shot of the neuspeed bar, except from the front at engine level do you? so i can see how much space it has?

Well I dont know how much good that'll do because I'm still using my f22a1 intake manifold so judging the space might be a little hap hazard.

But I think I have a quarter inch of clearance. I'm not too worried of the intake manifold clearing the strut bar as I can always unbolt the intake arm from the chassis and angle it down. The little flex sleeve on the the throttle body allows for some room for play as you should have noticed.

                                only other picture I have.

Oh thanks for the concern, I pieced together an intake manifold set up, f22a6 runners with a h22 upper plenum and found two IAB plates, which I've already gutted out one.

Just got to buy some vacuum and coolant lines as I dont want to end up having the lines not meet.

Anyone know what kind of tubes and vacuum lines I would need to buy so I wouldnt run into any shortage?
