Well...I almost did 1. Lol... I did untape, clean and retape all of my engine harness, battery wires and alt wires though. I was more concerned with getting her running again which is why I decided not to do it...yet.

                  Good news!

Wifey gave her blessing for me to order the parts I need next week to get the CB back on the rd safely! I'll be ordering a new pair of hubs w/bearings, the suspension resoration kit from TAS and I already have some drilled & slotted rotors that will be going on too. Should be peeling pavement again within the next couple weeks!

Thanks man! I'm stoked that she's running again too...even though she's just sitting in the driveway again.

I ordered new hubs & rotors from AM-autoparts on Sat...delivery is showing up as tomorrow afternoon. Can't wait to get them on so I get drive the CB safely again! I actually drove it to work yesterday so I could take it to the shop and have the axle nuts busted loose & retightened before the install. Riding on messed up bearings isn't enjoyable at all! She'll be sitting a few more days until the install is complete...don't want to risk messing up anything else. Didn't order the suspension restoration kit yet but I've had drilled & slotted rotors sitting in my shed for over a yr now and will be picking up lower ball joints on Fri. Need to give the CB a bath after I'm done and get some good new pics taken...been quite a while.

                          Update...

Put in some work this weekend...installed drilled & slotted rotors, new lower ball joints and new hubs & bearings. Drove the CB to work this morning and it was a night & day difference from before. Feels nice & smooth on the rd again...had dealt with the vibrations for quite a while and now I'm just glad I found out what had been causing it. Going to replace the front & rear upper ball joints, tie-rod ends and the rest of the bushings when I get around to it.

Just plan on driving it a few times to work during the week and try to enjoy it...for now. Sometimes I feel like I'll keep her forever...and other times I feel like maybe it's time to let her go. Guess it just depends on what kind of mood I'm in that day. I've had this car since Jun '01 and I'll be 37 in Jun this yr...just not sure when enough is enough. Lol... Wifey thinks it's been time to let it go for a while now but she doesn't really understand the attachment I have for it. I do agree with her...mostly...it's a $ pit and takes up alot of my time both mentally & physically. Plus we have 3 boys to take care of (2, 6, 9), the house, our jobs and everything else that comes our way. Had quite a few offers on it over the yrs, just never took anyone up on it. It would have to be for the right price to the right person for me to ever say yes...who knows. Anyways, it's not over till it's over!

So...last Sat I was driving into town for a run that my wifey was participating in and decided to stomp on it while in 2nd. All I can say is...this H22 can fly! Anyways, when I went to shift into 3rd the rpms were up around 7500k and I almost miss-shifted it but I backed off it a tad and it still hard shifted a little. I let off it a few seconds after that and let it back down to 60 mph cruising speed the rest of the way. Long story short...when I got into the CB to leave after the run the reverse gear wasn't working! It basically felt like it wasn't even there so I just put her in neutral, pushed it back out of the parking spot and then drove it out of there. 1st thru 5th felt fine on the way home but just couldn't get it into reverse no matter what I tried.

The car sat until Wed of this week and then I finally decided to drive it to work. Figured that if I pulled through the parking spot at work I wouldn't have to back it up anyways when I left. My buddy at work has a '98 Prelude and when I mentioned the problem to him he said that the same exact thing has happened to him a few times...weird. He said that he found out a trick to get reverse working again so at lunch we went out to the CB to try it. I ended up holding the rpms around 2k while holding the shifter where reverse should be and after a few seconds of a little grinding...it popped into gear! He told me hearing the grinding would be the worst part but after pulling forward and the backing up a few times the grinding stopped.

All is well now and I guess I've learned something new about H22s...they don't like high rpm hard shifting! Lol... I plan on getting it on the dyno sometime soon so I can see what kind of #s she's putting down. The street tune that was done on it was very well done but since the dyno was down at the time last year I couldn't ever get it on there. Probably just going to go somewhere else for the pulls. Stay tuned...
