are there absolutely any differences between this and swapping in a H23 head ? I've heard rumors that an oil passage has to be plugged on the H23 head any truth to this ?

That is the only problem with this swap. It is harder to find the F22B DOHC head just by itself. I see aproximately 1 to 2 for sale a month. If you purchase the whole engine, then by all means swap in the whole motor.

I've been pricing things out to do this swap. Problem for me is that I haven't been able to find just the head. Is there any reason if I have to buy the whole engine, not to just swap the whole thing?

I purchased the Head from PRIMOCB7, a member on this board. It needed to be re-built due to a bent valve. I used this head on my very first swap, but them removed it after that oil pump in that motor decided to take a shit. Now it has found its new home.

if you use a p14 youll needto hook up a knock sensor, also a iab control box if you use the h23 intake manifold

Great write up. everyone and their mom will be refereing tothis.

How Much Did I spend on part Collectively: I spent aproximately $400.00 on all parts. That was using all Honda O.E. parts.

How much did the head go for? I purchased mine for $150.00 shipped

What intake manifold did I use? I used the f22A6 IM with plans to use a H23 Upper Plenum.

Were the gains really noticible: Oh god yes. The plans for a dyno run are comming up.
