I picked up a second hand Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 this week and had to try it out...whew, I dont like the build but its hard to beat the sharpness.

I use a Canon Rebel with a 75-105mm lens that was in Portrait mode. I had to back away because the bird looked like it was going to shit on me.

Going to pick up a new lens this evening...might take me a while to get used to it though, it's not a great lens but it's good price and will serve it's purpose for now.
