I tend to prefer natural light and pictures without a huge amount of editing. There is definitely space for people with heavy editing but I think a nice shot without much magic behind it can be just as nice, if not more appealing.

Joe is a teddy bear. Couldn't make it out this year otherwise I'd probably have bumped into you.

ive been pretty far off my game lately... its crazy how shitty clients can ruin your will to shoot, and work. im switching gears currently and looking to do more commercial work, and learning a ton more! crazy how rewarding and challenging photography has been for me. definitely my lifes work to master what is so hard to explain to people.

oh these are all photos from my second 365 project im currently doing. basically i take a picture every day. this will be the second year of doing it. i plan on doing it for as long as i possibly can. 10 years is the goal at the moment.

hey hey! maybe it doesnt come through too much to the viewer but i have just been in a pretty bad rut lately... i want to shift gears away from being so much of a spectator of what is going on and actually make some photographs... i want to get into commercial photography.

I was kidding (pretty sure you caught that but wanted to clarify for casual observers). I know what you mean about getting in a rut. You get those first few incredible shots then kind of hit a plateau.

Always have to try new things to move to that next level.

I think im in that rut now.

I need to get my flash off camera but a lot of times Id prefer to use the ambient only but you can only do so much with the lens I have.

It doesn't come thru the way I want it too.

Been reading a lot of stuff lately.

I need to harness the light. That's my goal for now.

I just got back from Aruba so Ill post some.

Comments and critiques will be welcomed!

                  As promised---from Aruba

The one above is a series I did for the wife and I. Used on camera flash. I think it could be better, pop more. I wanted the sun at my back but that would mean the ocean being to the cameras back and then a bunch of crap in the background.

I just moved to St. Louis to shoot product images for a furniture company here. I'm also starting to do video production for them, and having an absolute blast! www.rothmanfurniture.com is the company I work for, all of the on-white stuff is what I do. Everything that looks like a complete room is provided by the factories/suppliers.

Love the zombie work! You're so lucky!

Furniture site looks solid. Did you photograph everything that's on there now? or Just some stuff?

Here is some macro work I just did today. Used a cheapo 28mm macro lens and my yongnuo ringflash.

Im actually quite smitten with what I got, especially the first image. This is like a cheapo 28mm macro lens. I can only imagine how good it would get if I had a good macro lens. Idk even know who makes this lens, and its a Minolta mount adapted to my EOS lol.

The youngnuo ringflash is definitely solid. For the first image, I took the ring flash off camera and held it underneath the leaf.
