Hmm, maybe I need to get a body with auto focus... Or a better lens. haha. I have trouble getting the right part in focus, when I do it seems to be such a small area. I realize this is due to the shallow dof but still other fast lenses seem to capture the whole car more sharply. Gotta keep playing with it.

Gotcha, thats what I used on mine too. Bumped fstop to 2.2 though. These little bitches don't focus all too well, especially since I have manual focus. Grr.

70-200mm 2.2 come to me.

Don't you mean 2.8? I don't know of any 70-200mm that have a wider aperture than 2.8.

well the subject in the photo is obviously the person in the photo and when i took it he was in deep thought.

Wow...

I like the effect that the smoke (or whatever it is gave.) Really exaggerated the depth of field I think. Anyhow, looks good. I figured you wouldn't be one to edit much.

cb7wagon: When I look at the picture I notice that his forehead is the only part in focus. Which tells me that the forehead is the subject. Plus I can't see his face, so I'm not really sure what his expression is. I'm not saying I could take a better picture, I was just offering some feedback. I do really like the "soft" feel produced by the lighting and b&w.

I think you have to think deeper to the fact that maybe a concentrating mind is the subject.

I appreciate your feedback, ilovemycb7. Sometimes one has to stop and think about the image and what it says. It could be something different to everyone but the subject and the message does not always pop out at the viewer.
