finally got some shit done to this thing...
- pulled apart the intake manifold and stuff to clean it out
- replaced the valve cover gaskets
- replaced all injector seals/orings/screens/pintle caps
- new power steering pump & pulley & a couple lines
- new distributor cap and rotor
- new plugs and wires
- new pcv
did a compression test, five cylinders were great (180) but one was a little low (150) but im not going to worry about it.
- i also poured B12 into the almost-empty gas tank, and seafoam into the oil.
- did a typical seafoam treatment through the intake
- adjusted the timing
it is running SO WELL right now!!!! its amazing how much power was freed up, i think most of it was due to the really poor condition of the old plugs. what is a large buildup of white crust an indicator of? most people said its from either predetonation (which i really didnt notice any) or that its from burning something, be it a fuel additive, or oil, or coolant......... makes me worry about the HG, but im not losing a drop of coolant, and no noticable oil burning. otherwise they appeared to be very old plugs, and i wouldnt be surprised if the previous owner was generous with the autozone fuel additives (employee there) so im just going to monitor everything of course. im going to get my leakdown tester fixed soon so ill try that out on it.
i still have to change the oil (seafoam still in it) as well as install the 3 new accessory belts that i have already. then id say its pretty much 100% ready to go, which means now i have 2 CBs for sale....
i will post pictures soon, as soon as i get them resized and uploaded.
