There are some threads left, but no where near enough to take 150+ft/lbs. With this kit you enlarge the hole, tap, counterbore, then drive in the insert and finally use the bolt to lock the insert in.

The drill master stuff from HF isn't to bad. Ive had a sawzall made by them for a few years now and it still works like when I bought it except the batteries die really fast.

Technically I only own part of it, the bank owns the rest. But I got what I wanted in an awesome location (away from anyone and anything) and with one hell of a view.
