From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

k..sounds good. I got a mechanical boost gauge, and while I don't have boost yet, it will still measure vacuum. also, how do I straighten the stupid plastic hose that came with the gauge? where can I route it?

Also, what fprshould I get? I found a b&m one at area 51 for 65 bucks..not sure if it comes with a gauge or not. Also, how do I keep the map sensor from seeing that there is boost? since, it doesn't know what to do when there is boost present, ya know?

you dont need a new FPR either...unless you want one of course. The map sensor is taken care of by the AFC. Its a fairly complicated concept...but basicly the AFC intercepts the map sensor voltage and raises (or lowers?, i forget) it according to the settings the AFC has. when the voltage changes, the ECU uses a different point on the fuel map and sends more fuel because it THINKS the vaccume is in a different spot than it really is.

when the map sensor senses boost, the AFC interupts, and changes the voltage to trick the ECU into thinking there is no positive pressure....i know thats a horrible explination sorry lol

there is a better explination on the "engine management FAQ" on www.homemadeturbo.com

i never straightened mine out. its not a big deal. but you can run it through the firewall just like any audio wires...the make sure there are no kinks in it

saweet! so, wut happens when the map sensor detects fuel, and the afc doesn't do anything for it? My friend had made some contraption for his boosted h22, and so I dunno if i'd hafta do the same..thats more money I am saving..also, how much psi are you running, and how do you set it?

swifty - ill have a pic by tommorow, sorry for the delay.

i.c. - Iv spent about $1200 on the setup all together, every little thing included. and thats with having to buy 2 intercoolers lol

On another note, i mentioned it in MRXs tunning thread but i might as well mention it here too. My car is officially run by uberdata. MRXs map works great on the DSM setup, a little rich but thats because of his crazy T3/T4 CFMs so when i borrow my buddies wideband i can tune it to my car specificly.

only problem with the map that i have found is the Vaccume problem. F22s when in full vaccume produce upwards of -25 in/hg of vaccume, where i guess most civics stop before 24 in/hg so at that low vaccume it becomes very lean. I tried to play with the map scalars the other night in uberdata but like MRX i didnt get very far, there weird to modify. i think im gonna post up a thread on the uberdata support forum and see what those guys say about it.

hey accordr33 if i use civic 93-95 sohc vtec injector seals for the 450cc would it work and fit? aite thanks

                      Comment

um...why not just use the seals that are on your accord right now? they fit fine if you drill the centers out. i have no idea if the civic ones will fit or not. i guess they would but i dont know for sure.

if you dremel out the inside of the accord ones they will fit, but you will also have to drill the insides of the civic ones out too

                          hey Accord r33 and midnite....

how many degrees do i have to retard timing per boost (10psi)
or.....will the uberdata handle that, or do i have to still manually do it with the distributor...thanks.

you have to tell uberdata to retard the timming. i think the map im using which is midnite's has it set to .9 degrees per lb of boost which is pretty conservative.
