The scene is still important! Even the dumbest cars are important. It's all about how there are worse things to do with your time. Think of it like good thing that kit put a shopping cart wing on his car instead of stealing mine. Maybe you work on your car instead of playing the latest phone app edition of whatever. It's a better way to spend time. It could be serious like drugs or theft but instead you wash your cb and roll around like its a BMW. Some people like having car knowledge some people like reality tv knowledge. It just so happens cb7 tuner has a lot more of the car knowledge types than most social groups. I don't get on book face so I have no idea what its like. It sounds to me like its less car knowledge and more of a reality t.v. style crowd but at least some of there time is spent doing the "tuner thing".

Did "the scene" ever matter? Wtf is "the cb7 scene" anyways?

What do you really expect people to do with a bunch of baffed out $500 econo cars from the 90's? Not everyone is going to piss a million dollars against a wall on a car that's worth scrap price.

I knew of the facebook page, never checked it out. I've lurked on this site since...2008-2009? Just before my freshman year of high school. I made my account i think 2 years ago? But I learned so much from original members and people who are still on the forum today. Before literally with the first CB we had in my family that was given to me i wanted to rice it out lol.

This forum totally helped me find a style I liked, and made me want to build something i could call mine. The CB i bought in july my little $500 junker? Yea It's a p.o.s. but I'm saving my money to do a proper H22 swap and then I'm restoring it next year. Paint is going to be OEM and done right, then I'm taking it to an upholster to be deep cleaned and probably recovered with the same OEM color. From then it's a rework of my WHOLE suspension all around with good quality parts. After that I'll start modifying and lowering my car and giving it a stance that i like. Not that retarded cambered out shit people are doing.

when keeping it real goes wrong. if i hadnt had my car for a decade and have crazy awesome memories with mine it would be LONG gone... i cant hardly blame a bunch of moron 18 year olds for having some fun with them.

I love cars, so I'm always gonna mod them. I don't think I'll be rocking any cut springs or rattled black cars anytime soon but I understand why people do it. Some kids don't have cash or support so they do what they can. Not saying it's right but they try even if it's not what we like.

Personally I hate Facebook I feel like it's for kids and more so for women anyway. I love the forums for this reason. Good convo, good people, nice cars, great info, and a place to come search when I'm bored. Facebook does none of this for me.

Back on subject, I've spent a ton of money on all 37 cars I've owned and I probably would have a sick 1 or two cars by now if I would have kept one. My longest owned was my green 91 cb7 and I ended up getting hit by a tow truck so I abandoned the car. I didn't have anything crazy but 4k in good parts meant something to me. Now I have a 91 cb that's my daily and I'm pretty sure boost is on the way because a buddy had a Turbo kit on his cb and blew the engine because of a lack of tuning and high boost. So I should have something quality to share again soon 8) but for now my ep3 gets all the love.

Don't get to down deev, there are still plenty of real gearheads doing the right things and lending a helpful hand, just might be a little harder to find them now. Pretty sure there are more than enough on here as well, just gotta call em out
I wake up in the morning and piss excellence!

To me the Facebook group is a quick way to get feedback for a lot of people. You don't want to wait for better more complete answers on a forum, you go to fb. I kind of like it when am occasional good looking car shows up there because it lets me know that there's more people out there that love and work on Accords outside of the forum.

That being said, the forum has been the most helpful resource I've come across to date. The people that are on here regularly seem to be the true enthusiasts who are willing to put in thetimeand keep their cars. Because of that there's basically a large technical experience pool. I know eventually it's just going to be the guys that live the cars and they will eventually be classics. I think that's when the "scene" will really start to shine.

Before I came across this forum, I'll be honest, I did not like my car at all. My grandparents bought my accord new around the time I was born and it has always been in my family. CB7Tuner gave me a new found love for that car and since then I have become more attached to my car than I honestly thought possible.

Facebook is the monopoly of the internet, it's everywhere and has its hands on everything. I don't usually waste my time on it, other then keeping up with old friends. I never look at the cb7 page, nor care too. When i look for inspiration i come here and look at old members threads.

Cb7s were never the cool car in the car scene, hence why you don't find cbs in video games or car movies. But when done right its a car that turns heads.

If you need inspiration for the love of our chassis, keep watching almostjdm's build or NWaccord. These are just two of many who are making a 20+ year old car stay alive in today's modern days.

For me that Facebook group is both a curse and a blessing.

                        Curse because:

                        - So many people are being misinformed
                        - A lot of the same questions that can be found here are always asked each time.
                        - I called out a member from the forum on there for scamming people and it was probably the most epic thing I'd ever witnessed online.

                        Blessing because:

                        - It takes half the slack away from here and this place almost reminds of me of how it was way back in 2003 small and in a way a lot easier to handle.

I haven't really posted on here in awhile because I don't have internet access at home (currently posting from my service bay at work) but with the facebook page active it really downsizes this place.

I've tried to help a lot of people on that face book page...even going as far to to providing links to the site for questions that needed to be answered.

I never know if they follow thru with searching but hey I can say at least I tried.

oh and I enjoy viewing Jspec's 365 album (shameless plug Chris!! )

Worse yet, everyone is expected to be "positive and supportive".

Is this what the CB7 scene is about? Is this what we've become?
The forum activity has slowed down considerably since the Facebook group emerged. I'm sure a good number of you are active on that group as well.

Anyway, I'm asking you guys to show me some cars, point me to some projects, show me ANYTHING to remind me that this scene isn't all about ebay sleeves on stock shocks, $35 HIDs in stock housings, rattle-can paintjobs, and wheels that don't fit.
my homies talk about this as well. Coming from back then we had quality builds. Now all we see is crap.

I actually threw it in their face (some cb group) that these guys need to step up their builds. And threw samples of my achievements and other fellow tuners achievements and get responses like this.
                          • im a poor college student
                          • i dont have money, were not ballin like you
                          • there's other cars better than yours, his/hers, etc
                          • i buy what i can afford
                          • im happy with what i have (which they really dont and also which is a piece of shit to most)

same ol excuses. typical mentality of someone who rather spends $$$ of 10 pounds of crap VS save money and spend $$$ on a one pound quality item.

                            They are cheap cars....

In fact , I think they might possibly be the cheapest car you can buy short of a ford escort or chevy cavalier.

You won't find a lot of money spenders here.

If these cars are too cheap for you why not check out the ferrari/lamborghini scene Mr rich guy.....

i'm one of the rare ones that don't do the whole social networking thing. i tried it out but it wasn't for me. anyone can look at my build and see the determination and drive i posses. about page 16 is when u can really see my build blossom, possibly where others would have hit wall and scrapped their build.

                              4cc0rdcb3's cb pretty inspirational build

Dude are you mad people make decent money? I wasn't going to say anything the first time you started with the "rich guy" thing but now you're taking it a bit overboard. (Referring to your post in the thread about whoring out our car.)

Like you stated these are cheap cars but guess what, its also not that expensive to mod these cars and make them look good. Nobody said a full build was in order for you to grace the forum with your presence.
