get this, i bent my new valves pretty bad. the lightened flywheel doesnt give you much time to react once its already too late. if i can get around to it, im going to pull the head off tomorrow and order a new set of valves, hopefully it wont be longer than 2-3 weeks before its back on the road.

sucks, but its the price ya pay i guess. its going to be much easier this time around, just the extra expense wasnt planned or appreciated.

Hey another excuse to upgrade Sucks though having to do that in this weather. What did you hit patch of slippery ice or wet spot revs skyrocketed?

if it were that, the ecu rev limiter would have kicked in. believe it or not, yet ANOTHER 3-2 misshift. i was at 8k in third, pulled it down to what i thought was 4th, let go of the clutch, and instantly i looked down and my tach was up past 9k. the tach pegs somewhere around 9500 before it stops moving, so im not sure where it actually got to. the car kept running, i drove it to my exit but didnt make it past the first gas station, as it stalled once i put it in neutral. the cars back at home, if i get time tomorrow im going to pull the head off and take a look.

btw, it has like... NO compression. turn the key to try starting it, and it sounds like the starter spins freely. hehehehe.

im not too upset about it, its really no different that blowing or breaking anything else on the car - just these happen to be internals. the expense sucks, but the work and downtime arent hard, just annoying. at least i have another CB to drive in the meantime

Haha Ahh I see didnt know you were still running stock ECU. Bud damn that sucks I know how you feel man!!! I did the 3-2 mis shift lol but i immediately put the clutch back in...I checked my peak on my vafc and it said 9260 I drove home slow after that lol. I still need to do a compression test on my car havent done one after that but everything drives fine.

Its wierd how ovver revving an h will fuck up the valves and not blow the rod bearings first.

Sorry to hear about the busted car once again.

Do you keep valves in stock by any chance? Like normal people keep an extra quart of oil and anti-freeze in the garage, you've got a headgasket, valves and retainers??

Just messin with ya. But at least when you pull the head, you wont get dirty at all in that clean engine bay!
