did some more work tonight. for some reason the two identical cans of paint i got were slightly different colors... so the tranny is a different color than the block. once installed with the header and accessories in the way, i dont think itll be noticable.

im considering going back outside to put the motor into the engine bay.. but i cant decide if i should wait till i get the head back on, or do it now and hook everything up from the bottom up to make sure its done perfectly and cleanly... eh whatever

new tranny on left, old m2b4 on right

replaced the rear main seal, installed ACT flywheel and XTD stage 2 clutch

    bolted the tranny on

thank you for the good comments

as for putting the block in tonight, any other night i would, but im just way too lazy right now, dont feel like leaving this seat. so itll wait until i get the head finished. im going on monday to drop the head off after work to get the valves put in (which includes a professional cleaning, +1 on the sweetness factor)

thanks, and no not yet... its a part that j-speccb4 found out about, it was something we were both searching for... so i dont want to mention it until either him or myself does it first, problem is that its really hard to find

took a close up pic of the top of the tranny..

you can clearly see the color difference here... i dont have any more of the paint, but im going to buy 2 cans... if they match the tranny im going to use them on the head and also throw a coat over the front of the block (which is still bare) so it all matches. even though i like hte color of the block better... if the 2 cans end up being the block color, ill just leave the tranny as it is.

heres a picture of every bolt, screw, clip, grommet, etc from the front end of my car, not including the bolts from the head and various other ones. im going to take a picture of the remaining bolts after everythings back together, im curious to see the comparison.

I have a feeling you will have PLENTY left over when you are done. I always do. I call it weight reduction a few ounces at a time.

isnt it amazing how that happens? after every swap or whatever, theres like a pound of bolts left over...
